QUOTES:

Derek Martin, President of Sports & Entertainment Atlantic:

“We are thrilled to welcome Rugby Canada and Rugby USA as the first guests in the new and improved Wanderers Grounds Stadium. We know from experience that maritime Rugby fans are passionate supporters of their national team and we can't wait to show off our city, our venue and our fans to the world.”

Geno Carew, President of Rugby Nova Scotia

“Rugby Nova Scotia is delighted to play a role in bringing this event to Halifax. The International Series will give our younger athletes a live look at rugby at the international level and be inspired to dream to represent their country one day. Events like these not only help us promote our sport but also generate much needed funds for our provincial programs”

Dustin Hopkins, Interim GM of Operations and Performance for Rugby Canada

"We're delighted to be making history by playing the first-ever international test match in Halifax this June. Our Men's Team is undertaking a coast-to-coast tour this June in preparation for the must-win repechage tournament in November and a fixture against our North American rivals, USA, will be crucial as we continue to our high performance plan. As we saw in 2015 for our game against the Glasgow Warriors in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup, fan support in Nova Scotia is superb and we're expecting a packed house at Wanderers Ground on June 23rd."
