Canada U20 look to end JWRT with a win over Romania U20

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA - Jeff Williams, Head Coach of Canada Under-20 Team, announced his final selection of the 2018 Junior World Trophy for the game against Romania in Bucharest on September 9.

It features a return of the top available front row, a second successive start at second row for 18-year-old Tyler Duguid, a return for Peter Ingoldsby at flanker, and the advent of Elias Ergas at full-back as Brennig Prevost will play at outside half.

Neither Will Percillier nor Tyler Rowland will play because of injury.

The result will determine who will be ranked seventh as Romania lost to Samoa, Namibia, and Hong Kong. Canada had heartbreaking last minute losses to Portugal and Uruguay, and capitulated against Fiji in the last 15 minutes. The final, which determines who will be promoted to the premier division of 12 teams, features Fiji and Samoa, the third-place game Portugal and Namibia, and the fifth-place game Uruguay and Hong Kong.

"We have yet to play well for the full 80 minutes and will need to do so to beat Romania," commented Williams. "They will be playing in front of a home crowd, with big physical forwards and some aggressive backs, so we certainly will have to front up."

Kick off on Sunday is 10am ET/7am PT and you can watch LIVE on World Rugby’s Facebook page.
