Rugby 15s Senior Men

Canada's Men's Rugby Team opened the 2019 Rugby World Cup repechage with a comprehensive 10-try victory 65-19 over Kenya on Sunday in Marseille, France

Canada's tries were scored by DTH van der Merwe (x3), Theo Sauder (x2), Brett Beukeboom (x2), Tyler Ardron, Matt Evans and Mike Sheppard, while Gordon McRorie added five conversions and one penalty and Sauder one conversion.

Despite Kenya enjoying much of the possession in the opening 40 minutes, Canada took a 27-12 lead into the break. Kenya opened the second frame with a powerful try under the posts, however, the final 30 minutes belonged to Canada as they ran in four scores for the win.

It was a clinical performance from Coach Kingsley Jones' outfit, who have now won their last four matches against Tonga "A", Oxford University, Coventry and Kenya.

In the other match of the day Germany upset Hong Kong 26-9 with a strong second half performance.

Canada's next match of the four-team tournament is November 17 against Germany. Kick-off is 10am ET/7am PT and fans in Canada can watch LIVE on TSN 1 & 3.
