Rugby Canada announce appointment of interim CEO
The Rugby Canada Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jamie Levchuk has been appointed interim chief executive officer for Rugby Canada, effective February 1, 2022. Levchuk will take over the position from departing CEO Allen Vansen.
January 27, 2022 (Vancouver, BC) The Rugby Canada Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jamie Levchuk has been appointed interim chief executive officer for Rugby Canada, effective February 1, 2022. Levchuk will take over the position from departing CEO Allen Vansen.
Jamie Levchuk has been the Managing Director of Business Operations at Rugby Canada since 2020, and has held senior positions with both Canada International Sevens GP (HSBC Canada Sevens) and Rugby Canada since 2015. Previous to joining Rugby Canada, Levchuk held the position of Director of Events for Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He has previous leadership experience with the Rick Hanson Foundation, and also worked for the organizing committee for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the Vancouver Canucks. He served 6 years on the Board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and Yukon.
Levchuk has been involved in Canadian rugby for more than 30 years as a player, coach, referee and administrator. He is an active player for Twilighter RFC in the Cascadia Masters Rugby Union and a certified referee, and previously served a 3-year term on the Board of BC Rugby.
“The process to identify the next CEO of Rugby Canada is well under way,” stated Rugby Canada Board Chair Sally Dennis. “In the interim, we are confident that Jamie will provide the leadership required to ensure delivery of key initiatives during the first half of 2022.”
