Rugby 15s Senior Women

Tickets are now on sale to watch Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team take on the reigning, six-time World Champion New Zealand Black Ferns on home soil on Saturday July 8 at TD Place in Ottawa.

Tickets are now on sale to watch Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team take on the reigning, six-time World Champion New Zealand Black Ferns on home soil on Saturday July 8 at TD Place in Ottawa.

Starting at just $20, tickets will give fans an opportunity to play a role in making history, as Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team looks to become the first Canadian 15s squad to win against a New Zealand side.

“This is an incredible opportunity to witness a match-up between two of the best rugby teams in the world—the current World Champions, and the team determined to usurp their reign,” said Tania Richards, Rugby Canada Director of Marketing and Communications. “Our goal with ticket pricing is to ensure that the match is as accessible as possible, so that anyone and everyone can be part of the story of Canada Women’s Rugby Team by experiencing their world-class skill and strength—as well as the power of being united by sport—firsthand. This is more than rugby. This is Canada.”

Canada hasn’t been awarded a major international women’s rugby series in eight years, with the 2015 Women’s Rugby Super Series in Alberta also being the last time Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team had home advantage over New Zealand.

As Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team has their sights set on a historic finish at the 2025 Rugby World Cup, this match will mark a significant first step on their road to becoming the next Rugby World Cup champions.

“We are proud of the way we were able to help grow the game and be ambassadors for our sport while at the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand last fall, but are hungry to play in front of a home crowd, and until now the opportunity to play an opponent like New Zealand in Canada has been rare,” said Sophie de Goede, captain of Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team. “The legacy we aim to leave is two-fold. Not only will this fixture spur our team on in our journey to top the podium in 2025, but thousands of youths, families and adults will be introduced to rugby by watching the best of the best right in their own backyard.”

This match is part of the 2023 Pacific Four Series in partnership with Mastercard, which will see Canada also play Australia at TD Place on Friday July 14. With the United States also in town, tickets for both July 8 and July 14 will give fans access to a summer double-header of elite rugby and a one-of-a-kind celebration of women’s sport.
