Rugby Canada is saddened to learn of the passing of Bill Webb.

Bill had a long association with Rugby Canada and was a dedicated member of the rugby community, which included six years of service as a Director with the Rugby Canada board from 2016 to 2022. He was a force in many initiatives during his tenure, including the fundraising drive for the Al Charron National Training Centre.

His hard work and fierce commitment to the advancement of rugby in Canada extended beyond Rugby Canada, to his local rugby community and the Toronto Arrows Rugby Football Club.

Bill was the co-founder of the Arrows, Canada’s first and only professional rugby union team. Since their inaugural season in 2019, Bill was the President and General Partner of the team and played a key role in the strong relationship between the Arrows and Rugby Canada. At the grassroots level, Bill served as an advisor on the TIRF (Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation) Captain’s Council.

Bill was a husband, father and friend to many. He had a huge heart and passion for the game, his friends, wife Agnes and two sons, Stephen and James, who he had the privilege to watch compete for Canada at the International U20 level.

Bill’s contributions to Canadian rugby will leave a lasting impact on the game across the country and he will be greatly missed by all of Canada’s rugby community.
