Lucie Romeo and Alex Russell have been added to Canada’s Santiago 2023 Pan American Games rosters following injury to Julia Greenshields and Brock Webster.

A Maple Leaf Academy player and RBC Training Ground athlete, Romeo competed with Canada’s U20 Women’s Rugby Team in Ottawa this past July. Set to make her international sevens debut in Chile, Romeo was one of 16 players who travelled to France in May for a prolonged training camp ahead of the 2023 HSBC France Sevens.

Russell, a Pacific Pride graduate and McGill University alumnus, first represented Canada in 2021 at Vancouver Sevens, and most recently competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic qualification event in Langford in August. Russell played a key role in Canada’s 2024 Series Play-off win in May, scoring with a minute remaining to help Canada secure a win over Kenya in the final.
