Rugby Canada reminds our community that rugby is for everyone.

Community

Rugby Canada recognizes that its fundamental obligation and responsibility is to protect the health, safety and physical and mental well-bring of every individual that is involved in the Canadian rugby community.

As Pride month comes to a close, Rugby Canada reminds our community that rugby is for everyone.

Rugby Canada recognizes that its fundamental obligation and responsibility is to protect the health, safety and physical and mental well-bring of every individual that is involved in the Canadian rugby community. All members have a right to participate in a safe and inclusive environment free of abuse, harassment and discrimination.

On June 12th, 2024, the Rainbow Griffins Rugby Club announced the launch of a global study to change the way 2SLGBTQ+ members are represented in the rugby community. The study has been developed by an expert team to ensure that the training modules are effective in informing coaches, officials and players on how to create an inclusive rugby community.

If interested, your participation in the anonymous survey would be greatly appreciated. It will assist Rainbow Griffins Rugby Club in creating a supportive environment for 2SLGBTQ+ players who face scrutiny in our current climate. This initiative would not have been possible without support from Dr. Marianick Pichon, Dr. Lauren Wolman, Dr. John Paul Horn, Ian Royer, Charles Abernathy, Myles Spencer and Nathan Bombrys.
More inclusion is necessary and can be achieved with your help. Simply click on the following link to take part: https://linktr.ee/rainbowgriffinsstudy

As we continue to work to make rugby a safe, inclusive and welcoming sport for all, we encourage our community to join us in continued education and learning. See below for a variety of resources.
