Rugby 15s Senior Men

Tickets go on sale on Thursday June 27 at 10:00am PT for Canada’s Men’s Rugby Team’s Pacific Nations Cup match versus Japan at BC Place in Vancouver on August 25, 2024.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday June 27 at 10:00am PT for Canada’s Men’s Rugby Team’s Pacific Nations Cup match versus Japan at BC Place in Vancouver on August 25, 2024.

This will mark the fifth time that BC Place has hosted an international test match, and the first time Canada’s Men’s Rugby Team has played in Vancouver since 2019. Japan is currently ranked 12th in the world, and last met Canada in 2016, also at BC Place.

This match will help kick off the reimagined Pacific Nations Cup, a new annual tournament contested between Canada, Japan, the United States, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. Announced last fall, the Pacific Nations Cup provides Canada’s Men’s Rugby Team with a guaranteed annual fixture on home soil as the program builds towards qualification for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

Tickets start at $30 plus taxes and fees, with ticket options including club and fieldside seating.

"Vancouver is a world-class host city that is home to a passionate rugby community, and we’re looking forward to hearing that passion behind our Canadian national team at BC Place this August,” said Nathan Bombrys, Rugby Canada, CEO. “The Pacific Nations Cup will provide us with quality opposition every year and will factor into our Rugby World Cup qualification aspirations in 2025. We need to establish a true home field advantage behind our Canadian team. No better place than here in the great city of Vancouver against Japan.”

"It’s an honour to host the men’s rugby teams of Canada and Japan for an exciting match this August,” said Chris May, General Manager at BC Place. “This will be the fifth test match we’ve hosted at BC Place, and we eagerly welcome the opportunity to bring the vibrant energy of rugby fans back into our stadium – there is something special about rugby at BC Place.”

Canada’s match against Japan will follow two test matches in Ottawa in July against Scotland and Romania. Following the match in Vancouver, Canada will travel to Los Angeles to play the United States on August 31. All teams, including the Pool A nations of Fiji, Tonga and Samoa, then go to Japan for the play-offs. Tokyo will host the semi-finals and fifth place play-off over September 14 and 15, while Osaka will host the final and third place play-off over September 21 to 22.

Information on kick-off time, broadcasting and further match details for Canada vs Japan at BC Place will be announced shortly. More information on the Pacific Nations Cup can be found here.
