Match Official Appointments
Rugby Canada has appointed the match officials for the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship.
“We have officials from BC right through to PEI taking part in this year’s tournament, including some of our country’s very best, as we look to continue to build our depth and develop our national-level officiating talent,” said Nathan Abdelnour, Rugby Canada’s Match Official Manager.
Kristine Lovatt returns after being unavailable in 2023 and is joined by Emma Gallagher as one of Canada’s leading women’s officials. Chris Assmus, a regular MLR match official and former test referee, will also attend and assist in a leadership role. The remaining officials are part of or moving towards the Rugby Canada match official high performance pathway, with Annie Kennedy and Rebecca Matheson making their second U SPORTS appearances and several local officials making their debuts as match officials.
