Sport Canada’s Community Sport for All Initiative (CSAI) provides funding to introduce safe and welcoming sporting environments in schools and communities across Canada.

Rugby Canada implemented funding from the program for the 2024 Coaching in Schools project and the 2024 Community Rugby Fund for women, girls, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQS+ people, and underserved communities.

In total, Rugby Canada supported 21 projects and 122 elementary and middle schools from coast to coast.

The federal government’s Community Sport for All Initiative (CSAI) supports National Sport Organizations (NSOs) in establishing more accessible and locally organized sport programs aimed at reducing barriers to participation, particularly among Black, Indigenous and racialized communities as well as 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, persons with disabilities, people with low incomes and newcomers. A total of $16.7 million in funding was provided to 39 NSOs, including Rugby Canada in 2024.
