
Rugby Canada’s community events coming to Edmonton this July
Rugby Canada, in partnership with Rugby Alberta, has planned an extensive schedule of community events in the Edmonton region in the lead up to Canada's Men's Rugby Team's summer series in Edmonton. Canada's Men's Rugby Team plays Belgium on July 12 and Spain on July 18, both games played at Clarke Stadium.
RUGBY CANADA'S COMMUNITY EVENTS COMING TO EDMONTON THIS JULY
Rugby Canada, in partnership with Rugby Alberta, has planned an extensive schedule of community events in the Edmonton region in the lead up to Canada's Men’s Rugby Team's summer series in Edmonton. Canada's Men's Rugby Team plays Belgium on July 12 and Spain on July 18, both games played at Clarke Stadium.
All events are free of charge. The goal of Rugby Alberta and Rugby Canada is to ensure that anybody who wishes to participate in rugby can do so without barriers. These community rugby events are designed to provide unique opportunities for any person with or without experience playing rugby.
The community engagement schedule includes:
Canada Open Practice
Monday July 7
10:00AM – 12:30PM at Clarke Stadium
Join Canada’s Men's Rugby Team for an open practice at Clarke Stadium. Fans will watch as the Canadian national team prepares for their upcoming tests. After their practice, the national team players and staff will be available to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans.
ERU T1 Friday Night Lights
Friday, July 11
6:00PM – 9:00PM at Clansmen Rugby Football Club

The Edmonton Rugby Union, along with Rugby Canada, will host a FREE T1 festival. T1 is a new and exciting non-contact version of the game. Friends, family, and coworkers can come and experience our sport in an inclusive, beginner-friendly environment. Participants should register under the Sportlomo 'ERU T1' tab.
Anthem Player Mascots for the Edmonton International Summer Series

Rugby Canada is looking for local club players between the ages of 6-12 to walk out onto the field with their rugby heroes and stand with them as the national anthems ring out in Clarke Stadium. Eligible participants must have tickets. Registration for each game is limited to 46. Once registration is full, Rugby Canada will activate a waitlist. If a participant decides not to participate, waitlisted people will be contacted no less than 48 hours before each game.
Club Curtain Raisers
Saturday July 12
10:00AM – 2:00PM at Clarke Stadium
Rugby Alberta and the ERU will host the Community Rugby Curtain Raiser at Clarke Stadium with two ERU U18 team matches, an opportunity for club rugby to be highlighted on the big stage. The ERU will select U18 girls' and boys' teams to make 2 exciting youth rugby matches ahead of the international test match.

Community Rugby Fund recipients Edmonton Clansmen play a friendly game of T1 rugby in front of thousands of fans at halftime of the Canada v Belgium game.
ERU Rookie Rugby Try Rugby Day

In collaboration with Rugby Alberta Rugby Canada’s Rookie Rugby Roadshow takes the form of an All-City Try Rugby Day. Rugby Alberta at Rundle Park. This event is open to youth of all experience ages U8-U18. Try Rugby Days are non-contact events with games-based learning. This exciting event will feature engaging drills, friendly matches, and skill-building activities designed for all skill levels. Adding to the excitement, international rugby players will be in attendance, offering tips, sharing their stories, and inspiring the next generation of players.
