Rugby Canada Women in Rugby Leadership Scholarship Program

Scholarship

In an effort to diversify leadership in rugby so that the game reflects all of Canada, Rugby Canada are proud to announce this new scholarship program.

Rugby Canada is committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the game. In an effort to diversify leadership in rugby so that the game reflects all of Canada, Rugby Canada are proud to announce this new scholarship program.

Mirroring the World Rugby Women in Leadership Scholarship Program, this program will award 3 recipients from provincial unions across the country funding of up to $4000 to pursue development opportunities that will enhance their ability to lead from within our sport. It is the ultimate goal of the program to provide a strong and diverse leadership base in Canada and a pipeline to the WR Scholarship Program and beyond.

Recipients will create an individualized development plan that may include formal and informal education, attendance to conferences, participation in working groups or committees, or other relevant activities. Travel, accommodations and conference fees in association with these activities may also be covered. If applicable, the recipients will also be assigned a mentor to support their development. Scholarship recipients will be required to submit 6 and 12-month reports on their progress and development.

The recipients will be connected to a larger network of women in leadership positions in rugby and sport in Canada. It is the long-term vision of this program that past recipients become future mentors as well.
