Updated Laws of Rugby App
World Rugby have recently launched a new version of the Laws of Rugby app. While it mainly looks the same, it does now reflect all the content on Passport (laws, videos, guidelines, clarifications etc).
As it’s a full rebuild, it will take longer when you download it for the first time. It is best to do so when you have strong internet provision rather than remote. It is available in both iOS or Android App stores.
2025 Law Book & Terminology Changes
The PDF version of the 2025 Law book is now also available to download on the World Rugby website. Some of the terms used within the official Laws of the Game have been updated as part of a desire to simplify the language that is used. Click here for the list.
Rugby Canada Law Amendments
Other than the above Global Law Trials, there are no other new law amendments unique to Rugby Canada in 2025. The only differences to World Rugby law are outlined in the Age Grade Variations, published on the Rugby Canada website.
Competition organizers, on a discretionary basis, can also adopt any aspect of the World Rugby Game On Global variations – any adopted variations must be explicitly outlined in competition rules. All other law changes at a competition or match level not covered in these documents must be approved by Rugby Canada for the competition and/or match to be officially sanctioned.
