Day 4 Recap of the 2018 Canadian Rugby Championship

Logan Martin-Feek
Rugby 15s Senior Women, Rugby 15s U20 Women, Rugby 15s U19 Men

It was a quiet day four at the CRC with all the junior competitions taking a rest day at the mid-point in the tournament. However, there were two senior women’s fixtures with Ontario taking on the Wolf pack early in the afternoon, and BC taking on Quebec after that.

The Keltics were at the top of the Senior women’s competition after winning their first two games, however they have a rest day today. In the Ontario V Wolfpack game, both teams were looking for their first win of their campaigns. Unfortunately, Ontario will have wait for their game against British Columbia to get that win, as they fell to The Wolf Pack 17-24.

In the second fixture of the day, BC played Quebec in a fierce match ending in a score of 34 to 5 in favor of Quebec. The women’s table now has Quebec on top with 10 points. Enna Slevinsky from Nova Scotia sits atop the try scoring table with 3 tries.

A message from Jordan Astrope of Saskatewan Rugby:

“Sask Rugby is very happy pleased with how everything has come together. The LOC under the leadership of Darren Richens have exceeded all of our expectations. The local rugby community has stepped up in a big way with over 178 volunteers to deliver the best experience for the coaches, athletes, referees and spectators. We would like to thank Saskatchewan Tourism, City of Saskatoon and Sask Lotteries for their support”

Day four results:

Sr. Women – Wolf Pack 24-17 Ontario
Sr. Women – Quebec 34-5 BC
